Before teaching online, I held the position of Admissions Reviewer at Texas A&M University. I enjoyed reading students essays and providing the applicant with a wholistic review process. When I was in the review off season, I worked as a substitute teacher. I taught grades K-12. Based on my experience, you can see that education is very important to me and I am proud to have been involved in many divisions of it.
I am passionate about animals. I have owned two Award winning Pet Sitting companies. I sold them when I moved out of state. Pet Sitters International awarded my businesses, Top 5 out of 8,000. Even today, I still speak at National Conferences and mentor professional sitters. In addition to this, volunteerism is important to me as I have held many positions with the SPCA and Humane Societies. I was the volunteer Director of Education for the East Texas ASPCA. Finally, as part of the ASPCA, I developed their curriculum.
I have an amazingly supportive family. My husband is a Project Managing Engineer, who loves to woodwork and build things. I have two sons. My oldest is a Junior at Texas A&M University studying at the Bush School of Public Policy. My youngest son is a Senior in High School and has been accepted to the Auburn University where he will study Mechanical Engineering. I cannot leave the only other female in my house out, Ava, my loyal Doberman Pincher. She is absolutely adorable.
I have many interests. I love to paint and often hold painting parties. Currently, I am the President of a local Philanthropy group that keeps me very busy. I have the travel bug and love to visit new places and explore. My favorite places are the beach, castles, museums and historical places. Historical places are a true passion that runs deep in my blood as my 19 times Great Grandfather was King Ferdinand of Spain. King Ferdinand loved to encourage expeditions. In addition to King Ferdinand, my 15 times Great Grandmother was Mary Queen of Scots. I love Genealogy too!
I am looking forward to teaching and learning with your student. Education should be fun and informative. My classes are teacher led and student driven. I enjoy seeing how the class forms organically. I encourage students to speak in class and respectfully listen to their classmates. See you in class!
