Elyssa Bockman Brecher
Elyssa Bockman Brecher comes to OTA from Northern Virginia, where she is also a homeschooling mother of a very talented ten-year-old, competitive figure skater. Attending Gallaudet University as a hearing undergraduate student, Elyssa earned a double major in Deaf Education and American Sign Language, with minors in English and Linguistics. She also holds a teaching certificate as a Secondary English Teacher.
For the last ten years, Elyssa has worked as a classroom teacher, teaching assistant, and interpreter across Fairfax County. During the summer, she also works at both the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia's and Chabad of Northern Virginia’s Summer Camp Programs. In addition to this, she has been a Forensics and Debate Coach at Lee High School, and a youth sports Lacrosse coach. During her free time, she loves to do photography, memory planning, and being a figure skating judge!
