For the past 25 years, I have been an educator focusing primarily on language instruction. I have taught ESL in Japan and Ukraine, Japanese in a Harlem Middle School, Arabic at Brigham Young University and George Washington University, and Global Affairs at George Mason University. Currently, I live in Cairo, Egypt and teach my GMU courses via the university distance-learning portal.
This year marks my fourth year as a homeschooler. During this period, I created several courses for my children to take along with peers, including Arabic for Young Learners, Japanese for Young Learners, Lego Club, and a PE class. I conducted weekly sessions (or more) of each of these classes for at least a year, and all were hugely successful.
I love Arabic and dearly want my children to become fluent in the language; therefore, we moved the family to Cairo and are pursuing our dreams in this fascinating country. In addition, I enjoy learning about and traveling to any new place, all things Japanese, reading, fitness, and resale shopping.
