Raised in a military family, Ms. McCormick has lived in California, Hawai’i, Washington D.C., and Virginia. She had a fruitful high school career, expressing a love of learning and growing to be a self-taught student. Graduating with honors with a 3.80 GPA, Ms. McCormick studied six years of Latin, three of those years included classes in both Ecclesiastical and Classical. She competed in the National Latin Exam for the fourth year in 2015 attaining Summa Cum Laude. In her two of three previous attempts, she attained Summa Cum Laude and Magnum Cum Laude. She was accepted into Liberty University in her junior year of high school. During her senior year, she balanced being a part time college student with her high school requirements, volunteering, extra-curricular activities, and family obligations. Presently, she is in her sophomore year at Liberty and God-willing, will graduate in 2019.
Being the oldest of seven children, Ms. McCormick is deeply passionate about teaching and education. In the past, she has been known to get along very well with children and has volunteered as a team leader in the annual Vacation Bible School. She hopes to ignite the love of grammar and writing among her students so that they will become lifelong learners and appreciate the gift of learning.
