Is your child ready to jump into the world of ASL without an English lifejacket? This is the class that will take your student’s understanding of ASL from fluent to exceptional. ASL Level 4 will be conducted completely in American Sign Language and students will not have the option to use their microphones in class.
In this course, we will learn how to communicate in sign language about detailed topics, including health conditions, rules, and life decisions. In addition, students will be assigned projects to translate and interpret on their own. By the end of the class, students should have a mastery of American Sign Language and a springboard for beginning classes in ASL interpreting, instruction, or education.
It is strongly recommended that sometime during the student's study of ASL, they take my class, Introduction to Deaf Culture. This helps the student understand the complete picture of the Deaf world. This class is being offer during Winter 2020 on Thursday.
Note: ASL classes at OTA have a limit of TEN students so that each student can get enough time to sign during class.
NOTE: Registration deadline is August 26, 2019.
