Does your child already have basic conversational skills in American Sign Language? This is the class that will cement your child’s understanding and fluency of ASL. ASL Level 4 will be conducted completely in American Sign Language and students will not have the option to use their microphones in class.

In this course, we will move to advanced ASL storytelling, introductory interpreting, and translation. In addition, students will be assigned projects to translate and interpret on their own. By the end of the class, students should be fluent in ASL and able to converse with a Deaf person they meet in real life.

The curriculum parallels what we know about language development and second language learning. We focus on introducing language in context and reinforcing what is learned by engaging you into various interactive activities. A conversational curriculum requires you to be an active learner. You need to come prepared to sign with me and other classmates.

PLEASE NOTE: This course will begin on September 8, 2022 and the instructor will use the FALL MAKE UP DATE of December 15, 2022.

High School Students can use this course as a 1 credit foreign language or elective.

NOTE: Registration deadline is August 15, 2022.

There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.

There are no reviews yet. Be the first one to write one.
