Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary class. It embraces a wide variety of topics from different areas of study including science, economy, politics and geography. Environmental science concepts covered in this course include ecology, resources, human population, over consumption, waste management, pollution, and sustainable alternatives.

This is a web based class with a lab component.  Students will be required to read, take notes, and apply concepts in weekly assessments. In addition, each student will design and conduct a long term experiment, with guidance from the teacher that will be peer reviewed and used as a portion of the final grade.

The goal of Environmental Science is to provide students with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, to identify and analyze environmental problems, both natural and human-made, to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them.

Students will be prepared to take the AP Exam in Environmental Science on their own after the completion of this course.

Student will be required to complete approximately 3-4 hours of homework outside of the weekly classes. Most assignments can be printed and uploaded for grading.

Registration deadline is September 15, 2021

There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.

My daughter has really enjoyed this class taught by Ms. Sarah. It is an engaging and creative class, filled with conservation, ecology and building a better earth/world. It has given my conservation minded daughter more information to grow with and ways to make things better for those around her. Ms. Sarah is truly a wonderful, fun, energetic, and knowledgeable teacher. She enjoys teaching and her passion for science is just wonderful.
