Playing games teaches us so much!
Social skills such as fair play, patience, and the art of conversation are built along with skills of logic, planning, and strategy building.
Each week Ms. Rachel will start students with a guided ice breaker in order to help build a sense of community.
Then, students will practice leadership and community skills as they play a variety of “table” games including, but not limited to Solo (like Uno), Carcossone, Haiclue, Carcossone, King of Tokyo, and many others.
Weekly games will be chosen by group consensus.
If students do not already have accounts in Board Game Arena (an online gaming site) and Discord (a chat site built for gamers), they will be expected to create free (or premium) accounts.
This club may be listed as an extracurricular activity on high school transcripts.
NOTE: Registration deadline is January 5, 2024.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
