“In 2002, 89% of Americans aged 18-24 could locate the United States on a map. That means roughly one out of ten Americans could NOT find their own country. It gets worse. 93% of Swedes could find the United States on a map whereas only 16% of Americans could find Sweden.” ~ National Geographic, 2012

More than maps!
Eva cemented geography by teaching about the landscape and culture of the different countries.
Excellent Practice for High School
Geography: World is a great class – especially following Geography: United States. With world geography, my 11-year-old is much more aware of political geography, but also climate and landforms. I have noticed that in order to finish his homework, he is gaining experience in skimming the readings, using the book’s index, and even cross referencing with other atlases/ resources. This is excellent practice for high school and college!
It's Awesome!
Geography Matters: World Geography is currently my daughter’s favorite class! If I quote her, she says,” It’s awesome!” I can’t give enough positive praise about Ms. Eva’s classes! This one is no exception! She finds so many ways to keep virtual learning engaging and interactive as well as current with usage of different apps like Kahoot. From Paper Mache globes to beautifully laid out maps and country snippets that spur on my daughters hopes to travel. My daughter keeps me informed regularly about how she loves different aspects of different countries. I love seeing her beautiful artwork recreating flags and such regularly. This class has not only taught her there is a world outside of the COVID quarantine but has really let her blossom and develop a passion to experience the world.
