Spring 2023
Students will explore basic concepts of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. We will learn a variety of vocabulary and create cultural projects such as traditional foods and crafts (supply kit included with registration). This is a great introduction to important concepts which will enhance and prepare students who are interested in continuing to more formal study in Spanish I for transcript credit.
Instruction and assignments will include reading, writing, listening, speaking, active, and hands-on activities. Students will be encouraged to share their ideas in a positive environment.
The goals of this class include:
- Introducing students to the principles of foreign language learning
- Strengthening and supporting English writing and speaking skills
- Exploring a world which is constantly growing more connected
- Preparing students for continuing into full credit foreign language courses.
Teacher made workbook will be provided at the start of class.
Students can expect between 30 – 60 minutes of homework weekly.
NOTE: Registration deadline is April 11, 2023.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
Excellent Spanish Class!
Mrs. Bevins is a wonderful teacher who keeps students interested through interactive live classes and innovative assignments. Both of my daughters took Spanish 2 and had a great year! The work load is very reasonable but rigorous enough, and engages the student in different ways to solidify learning. Students have plenty of practice with listening, speaking, and writing the language. Grading happens in a timely manner and feedback is plentiful. I highly recommend this engaging class!
