How does one get into outer space? Rockets of course!
Do you understand the principles behind how a rocket works and gets astronauts to the International Space Station? What about getting probes to other parts of the solar system?
Participants will learn these principles and build various types of rockets based on Newton’s Laws.
We will also discuss the many types of propulsion, the future of rocketry, private companies working with NASA, and advanced propulsion.
We will also delve into the concept of solar sails which have been proven successful and may be the way we can send miniature probes to our nearest star system, Alpha Centauri soon.
All of this will get us to destinations faster and eventually to other nearby star systems.
NOTE: This class must reach the minimum of five students by August 20th to run. If we do not reach this minimum, parents will be notified via email.
