In this engaging course, young learners will explore exciting places and meet fascinating people and thrilling creatures alongside Jack, Annie, and their Magic Tree House.
Each class will begin with a teacher-led read aloud from that week’s book. Your emerging reader will be given the option of practicing the important skill of reading aloud as well. We will learn together through the reading of engaging literature, class discussion, comprehension activities, vocabulary exercises, and videos. There will be an in-class, hands-on craft project for each unit and extension materials will be provided for optional at-home work. Students are encouraged to come to class in costumes appropriate to the book we are reading together!
Students will read:

- Polar Bears Past Bedtime (Book 12) ISBN-13: 9780770439446
Students will be required to read assigned chapters between classes. Some families might encourage their students to read independently, while others will favor family read-aloud time. Do what works for your student! Comprehension activities and vocabulary quizzes will also be assigned weekly. Students should expect to spend 1 – 2 hours per week on reading and activity assignments.
Please note this class meets TWICE a week on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 – 9:45 am ET for 10 weeks.
NOTE: Registration deadline is March 1, 2022.

Such a Fun Class
The Lego Design Series is such a fun class! It’s also much more than just playing with LEGO pieces. Currently, they’re creating a mini movie (2 minutes or less), learning about plots and characters, etc. In the past, they created environmentally sustainable cities, built a base to support life on the moon, and a few others. It has helped my daughter really dig into her creative side.
After deciding to homeschool this year, I searched high and low for an online class for our youngest child in order to grant me a small built-in break in my week and enable me to focus on some of our other children. I could not be more thrilled with the outcome of this enrollment! As a fellow teacher I was quick to see that Mrs. Brittany Robbins teaches this class with extraordinary classroom management skills and creates an engaging and welcome atmosphere. My newly-minted 7yo was transported into a classroom where she made friends and connected with others. The class is engaging and encouraging to new readers and emerging readers alike. The emphasis on vocabulary expansion has enabled me to shift my other curriculum studies with her. I would absolutely recommend any class with Mrs. Robbins for any child of any age in the future!
The Best Class She Could Imagine
My daughter LOVES Mrs. Robbins’ Harry Potter class. She says the class is “the best class she could imagine.” I appreciate that Mrs. Robbins sneaks in plenty of vocabulary, comprehension checks, and reading practice alongside the fun. We immediately signed up for the follow up class!
Brings history to life
My daughter just loves this class. History is so different when it’s taught in this perspective. My daughter couldn’t learn enough, even aside from class reading, we looked for more books, videos, and any information we could find. It’s always a pleasure to have Miss Brittany as a teacher. She’s so encouraging and really keeps the kids engaged.
Five star class with the best OTA early elementary teacher!!
My daughter felt very grown up participating in this class each week and really looked forward to Tuesdays so she could see her classmates and participate through sharing what she learned. It encouraged her to start reading more on her own while accepting kids who weren’t there yet.
