In this “technical writing” (nonfiction) seven day, intensive class, students will focus on exploring, brainstorming and writing strong, one paragraph pieces using appropriate transitional words.
Students will have homework as to write ONE paragraph between each class (except: final class – three paragraphs).
June 2 – What is a paragraph? History of the paragraph? Topic/Clincher Sentence.
June 7 – Chronological Paragraph
June 14 – Descriptive Paragraph
June 16 – Spatial Paragraph
June 21 – Enumerative Paragraph
June 23 – Process Analysis Paragraph
June 28 – Compare Contrast: Block, Alternative and Similar/Dissimilar
Students are expected to be present in class, with class notes in front of them, participating actively and asking questions when they arise.
Students are expected to USE their CLASS NOTES (provided by instructor) while writing.
Students are expected to USE their ASSIGNMENT PLANNERS while writing.
Students are expected to USE their COMPOSITION CHECKLIST while editing.
NOTE: Registration deadline is May 20, 2022.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
