The greatest connection we can have throughout history is the human one. Together, in Profiles in History, the students and I will take a unique perspective on each historical figure by sharing some of the lesser-known facts that you may not have heard before. As we learn about each individual, we will focus on the strength of his/her character. You will notice that I won’t merely focus on the achievements in battle, but more on their strength of character. The goal is to connect with the person – not just the history.
During session three, we will learn about authors, scientists, statesmen and everyday people that made a significant difference in the world around them and forever changed the future. We will begin around the year 1770 and continue through the 1930s.
This class will combine history, reading comprehension, critical thinking, geography, timelines and creativity!
Homework is approximately 2 hours weekly. Activities include pre-reading text, adding to the timeline, adding to the world map and creating a mind map.
I can’t wait to have your child join me in this fabulous adventure meeting people from all different times and places.
NOTE: You do not have to take Session One and/or Session Two to participate in Session Two. All Profiles in History classes are STAND ALONE classes. You can take them in any order!
NOTE: Registration deadline is March 1, 2022.
There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
