Winter 2024
In this ten-week course, students will explore Fern, Wilbur, and Charlotte’s world by reading the classic novel Charlotte’s Web. Students will be actively engaged in reading, writing, and art activities.
Class will often begin with a game of Kahoot as a comprehension check. Then, students will have the opportunity to present their STEAM mini-project or ART mini-project. Finally, we will move onto a class discussion about the novel, which will including discussing the themes, comparing and contrasting characters, and discussing various settings from the novel.
Parents should note that this novel is designed for students in grades 3 and 4, so if your child struggles with reading, you can read the chapters out loud as a family or have your child listen to the audio book while holding the novel in their hand.
Parents should expect that assigned reading and mini projects could take up to two hours weekly depending on the speed of the child.
A detailed list of supplies will be sent out prior to the first class.
NOTE: This class must reach the minimum of five students by December 15th to run. If we do not meet the minimum, parents will be contacted via email.
Eva is Amazing!
We LOVE OTA and we love Ms. Eva!
My two daughters has taken every single literature class that Eva has offered in the last three years AND each one has been uniquely different!
Eva understands the blend of teaching and making every child feel important and appreciated! This alone is worth its weight in gold; however, there is more! Eva understands the importance of blending all content areas into one class.
I encourage all homeschooling parents to take a look at what Eva is offering as she is the type of instructor you will want your children to have!
