Traveling the World: American Landmarks
$ 250.00

In today’s world, international travel is common, and many people take advantage of it; however, while doing this we often forget about the gems our own nation has to explore!

Over the 10-weeks, students will explore ten treasures that we have in the United States such as but not limited to the Liberty Bell, Ellis Island, The Empire State Building, Washington Monument, Mount Rushmore, The Golden Gate Bridge and more!  We will cover some basic information about the location, history of the place, videos, slideshows and more!  Finally, students will choose one location themselves and put together a “field trip” to share with us!

Virtual field trips have completely changed the way learners experience the world outside our four walls!  Together, each week we will travel to another place within the United States! We will learn about the history, importance of this place and how it connects to our lives today!

Come along and join us!

A virtual field trip, when conducted in the same meticulous fashion as a real-life field trip, gives students the ability to acquire the same cognitive and affective gains that previous research has found. When this is possible, an entirely new world of experiences will be opened to all students; I’ve also found that virtual field trips provide opportunities for young people to collaborate and discuss important issues with their peers.

Students will receive approximately one hour of homework.

NOTE: Registration deadline is January 1, 2023.

There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.
