Weather influences so many of our daily choices. From what to wear, to outdoor activities. But what causes some days to be warm and sunny and other to be cool and cloudy? Learn all about the wakey weather around us and learn to read the clouds so you can forecast weather in your area!

This is an online class with hands on activities. Each class, we will either make a foldable, model or complete a mini lab to help students understand class concepts.

Weather affects us all, no matter where we are.  The goal for this class is for each student to deepen their understanding of atmospheric phenomena that we call weather.

Students can expect 1 – 2 hours of at home assignments which range from reading an article, taking an online quiz, or answering questions about that week’s topic.

NOTE: Registration deadline is  March 1, 2022.

There must be a minimum of 5 students to run this class.

This was the first interactive online class our daughter took with Mrs. Pope and she wound up hooked! She was ready for class early every week and was even upset when a “vacation day” happened because she so wanted to be in class.
The most memorable piece was how this class was able to be taught anywhere. On dissection day, our family had an emergency and one of my friends offered to allow my daughter to bring all of her dissection materials to her home so the class wouldn’t be missed. Her three sons heard about what was being dissected and observed the class and started asking questions themselves. It’s amazing how one’s love of a class can become contagious! Thank you, OTA, for making classes be taught anywhere!

After taking the Dig Deep Marine Biology course, my daughter wanted to take more ocean related classes.. She was so thrilled to find out she could take Big Blue with Mrs. Pope. Mrs. Pope continued to do a wonderful job providing hands on projects that expanded her knowledge and love more marine biology life. If you have a child who is interested in how the ocean works or wants to get into a marine field, this class is great to take!

If your child is interested in crimes, the “who’s done it” and why, this this class is a go!!
My daughter loves the Forensics class taught by Mrs. Pope.. She even has the textbook that Mrs. Pope is using in the classroom even though all the lessons are provided in the CANVAS because she wanted to read everything Mrs. Pope does. In fact, this is the third class that Mrs. Pope has taught her! Mrs. Pope continue to provide engaging lessons that make her thinks and process the mysteries and crimes. She even points out “mistakes” in a TV crime series we watch when they are investigating the crime scenes . Mrs. Pope provides hands on math and science into the lab experiments that help reinforcing what is being taught in the lessons.
