Izik is in 9th grade this year and enjoys learning tricks on his scooter, painting miniatures for role playing games, building Lego or Mega Blok sets and playing the video game Rocket League. Izik also loves animals and nature. You can find him exploring in our backyard observing the many deer, groundhogs and squirrels. His pet guinea pigs are his most treasured though and he makes sure they are well taken care of! Izik also looks forward to family camping trips to Ontario County Park near the Finger Lakes and mountain biking with his Dad and brother. This will be Izik’s 4th year competing in the National Ninja League Worlds competition! He travels internationally for qualifying competitions and has met many of the competitors from the TV show, American Ninja Warrior. He excels at the sport of ninja warrior, which he started in when he was 9 years old. He is in the Young Adult category this season and his favorite obstacles are the Wing Nuts and Salmon Ladder. Izik’s perseverance and strong work ethic have helped him to overcome many obstacles in his life-both on and off the course!

Izik joined my advanced level intensive essay class during the summer of 2020 as a new student. He knew what I was looking for was hard, but he worked tenaciously to continuously improve. This past year, he followed that class up with a yearlong writing class. Izik demonstrated that hard work pays off. He continued to focus and push himself and make huge advances in his writing. The growth that he has shown is impressive. Additionally, he is a cheerleader to the other students in class. His positive attitude will take him far in life.
